Rooted in Amsterdam, crafting quality fashion across the Netherlands and beyond

We specialize in ethical, quality fashion production and circular design for brands and designers committed to inclusivity and sustainability.
Our talented, energetic makers, immigrants, and refugees handcraft high-quality garments, team wear, merchandise, promotional gifts, and upcycled products.
Every piece is designed to last and represents hope and new opportunities.
Every piece we create tells two stories: yours and theirs.
Every order creates fair paid work for immigrants and refugees rebuilding their lives in the Netherlands.

We believe in the power of local production. If you're located outside of Europe with talented local makers and ethical ateliers, we'd encourage you to work with them instead.
Ethical, local production costs more than overseas fast fashion manufacturing. Fair wages, quality materials, and zero waste processes have a price. If you're competing purely on cost, we're not the right fit.
We handle 50 to 5,000 pieces. If you need 50,000+ units or mass-market volume production, we don't have the capacity. We're built for small to medium runs, not industrial scale.
Quality craftsmanship takes time. If you need 2,000 units delivered in two weeks, we likely can't meet that deadline. We prioritize precision and fair working conditions over rushed production.
You can visit our atelier, meet every maker, trace every material. If your brand isn't ready for that level of openness or prefers to keep supply chains private, we're probably not the right match.
Everything began with discarded life vests from refugees arriving at European shores. Those vests, used during dangerous journeys, we transformed into fashion and keepsakes as symbols of new beginnings. Proof that what’s discarded can become something valuable and beautiful.
Today, we’re a growing community of designers, makers, and brands working together to shape a new future for local production; one built on inclusion, transparency, and circularity.
Our vision is an inclusive society where newcomers can contribute sustainably and creatively with their talents.
Makers Unite tackles two urgent challenges: fast fashion’s environmental toll and the barriers newcomers face in the Netherlands. We create fair-paid jobs while changing the narrative around migration through high-quality textile products born from creative ideas and unique perspectives. Through collaborative design, every garment we craft tells a story—one of skilled hands, circular principles, and new beginnings that honor both people and planet.
From design thinking and sustainable fabric sourcing through to production and aftercare. Our Amsterdam-based atelier combines small-scale production with high-quality craftsmanship, social purpose, and transparent supply chains.
We offer expert support in textile reuse, upcycling deadstock, and zero-waste production— all aligned with circular-economy principles.
